What we will do
  • We start our excursion with a panoramic tour of Chinatown, Singapore's cultural centre with its temples, decorated balconies and lively streets which gives us a glimpse of what life was like in the past.
  • We visit the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore, the magnificent Sri Mariamman, a tall tower studded with coloured statues of gods that stands out against the sky surrounded by modern skyscrapers.
  • We go for a walk through Little India, a lively and colourful neighbourhood full of small shops where we can browse around looking for spices, coloured silks, glittering jewellery, fresh flowers and other exotic items.
  • We then get on a trishaw, a typical cycle cart used as a taxi.
  • We ride along Arab Street and pass in front of the Sultan Mosque, a Muslim place of worship and emblem of Singapore.
  • The mosque, built in 1928 and boasting a spectacular golden dome, is the distinctive symbol of this quarter.
  • We stop at the Lantern Bar Rooftop at Fullerton Bay Hotel for a legendary "Singapore Sling", a cocktail that was created in 1915 in this bar.
  • The excursion ends with a river cruise on one of the colourful boats that transit in Singapore's waterways.
  • A kaleidoscope of images appears before our eyes: historic river workshops and shops, the six bridges built by the British and the grand palaces on the old waterfront that contrast with the skyline of the new business centre.
  • We end the river cruise at the picturesque Clarke Quay, with its colours, lights and sounds and return to the ship.
