What we will do
  • A coach takes us from the port on a fascinating panoramic tour of the interior, to admire the fantastic views and typical scenery of rural Mexican life.
  • We reach the heart of the mountains in the Sierra Madre at an altitude of over 1300 metres, where the pueblo di San Sebastián stands, one of Mexico’s great treasures, thanks to its inaccessible position and fascinating history.
  • It began as a mining town in an area, which reached the peak of prosperity in 1700. Today, this **splendid mountain village” has a population of 600 people and has preserved its colonial heritage
  • As we walk through the streets of the village, a true *living museum where time has come to a standstill, we can appreciate the traditional, cobbled square overlooked by imposing white buildings, the classic stage for the porphyry orchestra and glimpses of panoramic views.
  • We can admire the church of San Sebastián, dating back to the 17th century in the typical, Spanish, Baroque style of the colonial era.The building boasts some incredible architectural details, including Corinthian columns and frescoed vaults.
  • During our tour on foot, we will also be visiting a coffee plantation, a mainstay of the town’s economy today, and we will take part in an introduction to the typical tortilla.
  • A stop at the Doña Conchita Museum is a must.Housed in an old Hacienda built at the beginning of the 17th century, when mining was in full swing, it holds documents and articles owned by the founder’s family, one of the most powerful before the Mexican revolution of 1910.
