We visit the major attractions of the Island of Grand Turk on board a small tourist road train which takes us around the historic buildings, the natural beauty spots and finally to a beautiful beach to relax.

What we will see
  • John Glenn Memorial
  • Salinas
  • Old city
  • Front Street

What we will do
  • Our local guide welcomes us as we board the train. During the journey towards what is known as the historic part of the city, the guide provides us with information about the geography and history of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
  • We pass in front of the John Glenn Memorial and we visit the salinas to discover their fundamental role in the island's history.
  • Still on board the train, we visit the old city, where we encounter tree-lined avenues and old houses, some of which were built in typical Bermudan style.
  • We proceed towards Front Street, where we leave the train and enjoy a little free time before returning to the ship. We have time to take a few photos, visit the local souvenir shops on the seafront or, and why not, enjoy the small but beautiful beach and go for a swim!

What you need to know
  • This excursion is conducted in English.
  • We recommend that you book early because only a limited number of places are available.
  • This tour is a sightseeing one on board a train with some free time near Front Street; we will not visit any archaeological sites during this tour. As it is an open air vehicle and, although the guide uses a microphone and loudspeaker, hearing the commentary may at times be difficult.
  • Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  • During the free time, you can go shopping or visit the beach; we recommend cash for making purchases as not all stores accept credit cards.
  • We recommend you put your swimming costume on underneath your clothing before leaving the ship.
  • Do not forget to bring a towel, sunglasses and sun cream.
  • The beaches are public and unsupervised.
  • Beach equipment (e.g. sunbeds and parasols) and services (e.g. lifeguard) are not included in the price.
