Tour of the principal points of the city featuring the luxurious and charming premises of the northern quarters, which are home to numerous elegant restaurants, patisseries, night spots and stylish shops. The majority of the mansions in Palermo Chico are embassies, consulates and museums. The Palermo neighbourhood is characterised by its leafy groves, and its spacious avenues give it a unique and incomparable ambience. The picturesque Parque 3 de Febrero, known locally as the Jardines de Palermo (Palermo Gardens) harbours amongst its most important attractions, El Rosedal, whose surface area covers 34,000 m². The Botanical Gardens, Planetarium, Zoo, Argentinean Racecourse, Magna Carta monument and Municipal Golf Course, are some of the main highlights of this tour. A visit to the Parliament Buildings and the Monumento a los Dos Congresos is also included. The latter pays homage to both the 1813 National Assembly, which abolished slavery; and also to the Tucumán Parliament, which declared Argentina's independence on 9 July 1816. The sightseeing continues at Plaza de Mayo and the surrounding area, where the historical Town Hall, Pirámide de Mayo, Metropolitan Cathedral and building of the Banco de la Nación Argentina, are found. You will take a short stroll by the Obelisk and Plaza de la República, which is situated in the heart of the city, where two important, main arteries cross: Avenida 9 de Julio and Avenida Corrientes. The next stop is Teatro Colón (Columbus Theatre), followed by a short walk through the San Telmo neighbourhood, to discover its history and also to reach your next destination. With its long and illustrated history, whose fame has spread beyond its borders, the La Boca neighbourhood was the first port in Buenos Aires. Today, its inhabitants are predominantly Italians. Amongst its main attractions is La Calle Caminito.There will then be a two-hour stop at the commercial district La Calle Florida.
