This tour offers us the wonderful opportunity to visit some of the most famous attractions around Semarang. We will have a snack in an historic villa, visit an amazing temple and a museum where we will discover the region's art and history, and finally, the historic centre of Semarang.

What we will do
  • We will leave the port by coach for a sightseeing tour of Ungaran mountains, passing picturesque scenery such as rice plantations and villages.
  • Our first stop is Hills Joglo Villa, a traditional resort immersed in a tropical garden, where we will stop for a traditional snack accompanied by a Javanese coffee or tea.
  • Then we will proceed to Sam Po Kong temple, an interesting blend of the Chinese and Muslim cultures, founded by Chinese admiral and explorer Zheng He, a Muslim who reached these lands in the early 15th century.
  • Our excursion will then take us to Ronggowarsito museum, the biggest in Indonesia in terms of the number of collections and the size of the building, which is home to artefacts, objects and evidence of the history and art of the island of Java.
  • The last stop on this tour will be a visit to Kota Lama, Semarang's old town, where we can find the remains of Dutch colonial buildings and Gereja Blenduk, the oldest church in the central region of Java, dating back to 1753.
