Are any particular documents valid for foreign travel and visas required?
We always require our Guests to verify their identity document is suitable for the type of cruise chosen and to check its validity. For what concerns tourist visas in particular, we would like to remind our Guests that it is their responsibility to apply for the specific visas for the Countries visited during the cruise to the Embassy/Consulate before leaving.
Are beverages included in the price of the cruise?
No beverages are included in the price. A drinking water dispenser is available at the buffet during opening times. All beverages (cocktails, coffee, drinks) can be purchased with your Costa Card in the ship's bars and restaurants. There are also convenient Beverages Packages that you can book on MyCosta before you set off.
Are the boarding forms completed online enough to board the ship?
No, besides filling in the boarding forms online, on the day of departure you must also show your cruise ticket and the required travel document.
Please remember that it is the responsibility of passengers to ensure that they have the travel documents necessary to comply with customs and immigration requirements. Passengers without the correct documents will not be allowed to board and their journey will not be reimbursed.
Can a disabled person go on a Costa cruise?
Yes. Costa Cruises wishes to satisfy the needs of all guests who want to experience a cruise especially to whom require a particular attention due to mobility problems, visual impairments or any other different ability. International regulations require the Company to be aware of any “needs for personal assistance in the case of emergency” (wheelchairs,
etc.) of its guests in order to make the necessary arrangements. This information must be provided to Costa Cruises directly before the booking confirmation and again once passengers get on board of our ships.
We kindly ask you to inform Costa Cruises before confirming a cruise when you have guests with special needs and/or any special medical assistance, especially in case of wheelchairs.

Can I book a special diet?
You can agree on a special diet at the time of booking at your local Travel Agency or by calling our Contact Center. Special menus can be requested on all Costa cruises - gluten free for coeliacs, hypoglycaemic for diabetics or specific for any allergy or intolerance.
Can I change the name on the invoice?
Yes, you can. The request must be made within a month from the date of departure.
Can I complete the Web Check-in even if I do not have the booking number?
No, it's not possible
Do I need to get vaccinated before departure? What are the vaccinations required?
Vaccinations - when required - may be either compulsory or optional depending on the country of destination. Contact your local health authority for all the information necessary and to be vaccinated. If vaccination is compulsory, we recommend booking it in advance.
Does the price of my holiday double if I travel on my own?
The single use supplement varies subject to availability. The earlier you book, the likelier you are to pay the lowest supplement, i.e. 30%.
How can I reserve Beverage and Restaurant Packages and other services online?
Once you have purchased your cruise, you can customise it in MyCosta by booking Beverage Packages, Excursions (Costa Tours!) and other items and services for the itinerary you have chosen. The availability and price of items may vary depending on the length of the cruise and destination.
How can I reserve excursions (Costa Tours!) online?
Once you have purchased your cruise, go to MyCosta where you can see and book individual excursions for each port on the cruise.
Paying for all the excursions you choose is easy: you do it at the end of your cruise.
How do I access the Web check-in service?
To access the Web Check-in service, just go to MyCosta and enter the surname of one of the passengers and the booking number. You'll find Web Check-in in the MyCruise section.
How do I activate the Premium discount?
To receive your Premium Discount code just let us know your email address and/or mobile phone number before the end of your cruise. There are various ways you can do this: you can enter your email address and/or mobile phone number in MyCosta (in the MyCruise section), you can register on the website or at the interactive stands on board, or you can sign up to CostaClub. It will not be possible to provide the information required to receive a Premium Discount after the end of the cruise. To use the discount, just tell us the code you've been sent when you book your next cruise.
Please remember that your Premium Discount is valid for one year from the date your last cruise disembarked.
How do I book a Costa cruise?
You can book your cruise directly online or by contacting your local Travel Agency, our Contact Center of by having us call you back. Our operators can in fact call you back and help you make your booking - just fill in the form available on every page of the Costa Cruises official website.

How do I complete the Web check-in?
To fill in the Web Check-in form and get your Boarding Form, just fill in all the required fields. Please take care when filling in the email address field: the address must be personal and only one is required per booking, but if you enter addresses for all the passengers, each passenger must have their own address.
In the telephone number field, please remember to add the international dialling code (+44, not 0044), for both landline numbers and mobile numbers.
How do I confirm the services I've chosen that are in my basket?
You'll find all the services you have chosen for your cruise conveniently listed in the "Basket" section. You can then choose to confirm them, change them or remove them. When you have decided, you can book them. Remember: you can change your mind without incurring any additional costs up to 3 days before departure. After 3 days before departure, all the services you have booked will be charged to your onboard account and must be paid for at the end of your cruise.
How do I get to the departure port?

How do I find my cabin and Costa Card?
Once on board, our staff will tell you how to reach your cabin. You will find it open, with the Costa Card on your bed. It is useful to bear in mind that all even numbered cabins are on the left-hand side of the ship, while the odd numbered ones are on the right-hand side.
How do I pay for the services I have booked to personalise my cruise?
For your convenience, all services booked before departure will be paid for at the end of your cruise.
How do I personalise a cruise?

The availability and price of items may vary depending on the length of the cruise and destination. Personalising your cruise is quick and easy: just sign into MyCosta entering your surname and booking number to make your holiday even more special before you set off - you can book now and you pay on board at the end of your cruise!
How does baggage drop-off work during boarding and disembarkation?
During boarding and disembarkation, your luggage is managed by Costa staff thanks to a simple tagging system, so you do not have to move around the ship with your suitcases. Once you hand in your luggage upon boarding, there is no not need to worry about anything else - Costa staff will deliver it to your cabin free of charge. Due to security checks carried out on all suitcases, delivery may take up to two hours after departure.
Please tag all your suitcases carefully - our staff is there to help in case of doubt or difficulty.
On the penultimate day, you will be given the baggage tags to be placed on the suitcases, which must be then placed outside your cabin on the last night of the cruise so they can be handled by our staff and you can leave the ship comfortably.
We recommend storing valuables, documents and personal effects in your hand luggage during boarding and disembarkation. Please bear in mind that pushchairs must be carried as hand luggage.
How many pieces of luggage can I take on board?
The number of pieces of luggage you can take on board varies according to the length of the cruise:
- Up to 7 months: a single piece of luggage/suitcase per person in addition to hand luggage
- 8 to 14 nights: no more than two pieces of luggage/suitcases per person in addition to hand luggage.
- Over 14 nights: no more than three pieces of luggage/suitcases per person in addition to hand luggage.
The maximum weight allowed for each piece of luggage is 23 kg. All pieces of luggage will be subject to X ray safety checks before boarding. We would kindly remind you that weapons, ammunition, explosive, fireworks, gases and infective and poisonous substances are not allowed. If your journey includes a flight, we recommend checking the baggage allowance of the airline company.
How soon should I be at the port before boarding?
We recommend being ready to board at least 2 hours before the departure time of your cruise to make sure that the passenger and luggage boarding procedures run smoothly. Costa Cruise's number one priority is the security of its Guests, which is why an increasing amount of time and attention is spent on boarding checks. If your cruise includes an air transfer, we recommend being at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight is due to depart.
I am already registered but I changed my e-mail address. What should I do?
Login on the Costa website and click on "Modify my profile". You can change the data provided while registering as well as your e-mail address by entering your password.
I am pregnant, can I go on a cruise?
Yes, if your cruise ends before your 24th week of pregnancy.
Please bring a medical certificate with you stating your expected date of delivery and your good health. Please bear in mind that our ships are not equipped to manage pregnancies and deliveries.
I am trying to register but the system tells me my e-mail address already exists. What should I do?
Each e-mail address must correspond to a single registered user. To complete with your registration, you must enter a new e-mail address that has not been used by another user. You can contact our Contact Center operators for assistance.
I am trying to visualise my booking but the system tells me to verify my data. What is the problem?
In order to visualise your booking, the data entered must be the same as when you purchased the cruise. We suggest verifying them and, should you need assistance, you can phone our Contact Center providing your booking number to our operators.
I booked a Costa cruise through a Travel Agency. Can I still complete the Web Check-in?
Of course! You can fill in the Web Check-in form on the official Costa website in MyCosta. It's fast, easy and secure: you can be sure that all your details have been entered correctly for stress-free boarding.
When you fill it in, you should have ready: your booking number, your personal information, and document details for all guests travelling with you.

I forgot my password. What should I do?
To receive a new password, click on "Forgotten password" and enter the details required. The new password will be sent to the email address you provided upon registering.
I need to book for more than four people. What should I do?
You can only book one cabin at a time online; the cabins on Costa ships can accommodate up to four guests, apart from Costa Diadema, which has some larger cabins that can accommodate up to five people. On the other ships, families with three children can travel comfortably in two cabins, thanks to the special Family Plan promotion.
I would like to personalise my cruise but the website tells me it is too late. What does that mean?
There is a deadline for personalising cruises (3 days before the date of departure of the ship), which is indicated by the system once you enter your data. If the deadline has passed, you can book Excursions (CostaTours!), Beverage Packages and other services directly on board. We recommend doing so at the beginning of your cruise to avoid availability issues.
Is insurance compulsory?
No, but we recommend taking out a policy when booking your cruise. The insurance company we work with has agreed on a particular policy with favourable conditions and premiums.
Is the Web Check-in available for all cruises?
Yes, whichever port you start your Costa cruise from, you can board with the Web Check-in form you have filled in online, together with your cruise ticket and required travel document.

Not all those travelling with me have an e-mail address, what do I do?
The tags will be used upon boarding to identify and deliver the luggage to your cabin. The tags you receive on board at the end of your cruise will make it easier for you to leave the ship by showing the order of priority. Please remember that placing the tags on your luggage is compulsory.
What are the browsers supported by the Costa official website?

What are the documents required to go on a cruise?
In addition to the travel documents (cruise ticket, boarding form, baggage tags and flight tickets, if applicable), all Guests must have an identity document valid for foreign travel in all countries included in the itinerary: ID or Passport according to your nationality and destination of the cruise.
We would kindly remind you that it is your responsibility to procure the necessary travel documents in compliance with customs and immigration office requirements. Passengers who do not have the correct travel documents will not be allowed on board and no refund will be made. It is also the Guests' responsibility to produce all the visas necessary for the Countries en route and to check the validity of their travel documents.
What are the facilities available for families with small children?
All ships can welcome children in pushchairs from the age of six months - there are spacious lifts and cabins and wide decks and gangways. Children under 3 enjoy priority boarding and can use the game room of the Squok Club (less busy times and accompanied by an adult). Upon request and subject to availability, our Hospitality/Customer Services Office can provide cribs, cots and baby baths, arrange to prepare meals, provide high chairs at restaurants and offer a bottle warming service. No baby food or nappies are sold on the ship.
What do Costa cabins offer?
All cabins are furnished in a modern style and offer all types of comforts. All cabins have: air-conditioning adjustable with a thermostat, satellite interactive flatscreen TV, hair-dryer, safe, Steward always at your disposal, minibar and 24-hour Room Service (available according to the type of cabin selected when purchasing the cruise), Wi-Fi (extra charge), soap and shower gel, towels and linen (changed regularly). The cabin and the bathroom are cleaned and tidied every morning. Every evening, besides additional cleaning and waste collection, towels left on the floor will be changed, you will find your bed ready for the night with the curtains drawn and the lights on.
What do I need to do once on board ship?
Once boarded, check the number of the cabin on your ticket. You can enter your cabin directly, you will find your key on the bed when you go in. Your luggage will be delivered to your room as soon as possible.
What do I need to know before booking an excursion?
Excursions require a minimum number of participants and the price includes transport, the assistance of a guide, and entry to museums and monuments. Meals and drinks are only included when specified. Children and teenagers benefit from price reductions of between 10 and 30%. Children under three can travel on an adult's lap free of charge. Please be careful when buying items on land, some may be subject to customs duty which Costa Cruises is not responsible for.

What is a guaranteed cabin?
If you book a guaranteed cabin (indicated as G0000), an identical or higher category cabin may be allocated to you for the same price, which may be equipped differently. The allocation of a higher category Cabin will not however entitle you to the benefits that are normally included in the price of that accommodation. You can find out the cabin number just before or on the day of departure.
What is Bag Express?
With the Bag Express service, your luggage will be picked up straight from your home and you'll find it on board in your cabin - and all at a great price. You can book this service online in MyCosta in the MyCruise section, or by calling the special number.
What is included in the price of the cruise?
From full-board (beverages excluded) to onboard activities, from sports and wellness equipment to evening entertainment - Costa cruise prices include everything you may want from a holiday. There are not included extra services ( beverages, excursions, spa treatments....) and service charges.
What is the difference between Classic and Premium cabins?

What is the Premium discount?
It is a personal 10% discount on the price of the cabin on your next cruise (port and registration taxes, service charge and flight not included). You will receive a Premium discount if you purchase a Premium Cabin, Suite or Samsara and it can be used to book a future cruise, except for World Tour routes and Far East cruises. Departure must be within one year from the end of the cruise that awarded you the discount.
What precautions does Costa Cruises take to prevent the spreading of the influenza A virus (H1N1)?
With the objective of making your holiday as safe and comfortable as possible, Costa Cruises has implemented a series of hygiene and sanitation measures as well as checks to limit the spreading of influenza A virus H1N1, which the World Health Organisation has declared a pandemic, as much as possible.
