Are any particular documents valid for foreign travel and visas required?

We always require our Guests to verify their identity document is suitable for the type of cruise chosen and to check its validity. For what concerns tourist visas in particular, we would like to remind our Guests that it is their responsibility to apply for the specific visas for the Countries visited during the cruise to the Embassy/Consulate before leaving.

Are beverages included in the price of the cruise?

No beverages are included in the price. A drinking water dispenser is available at the buffet during opening times. All beverages (cocktails, coffee, drinks) can be purchased with your Costa Card in the ship's bars and restaurants. There are also convenient Beverages Packages that you can book on MyCosta before you set off.

Are the boarding forms completed online enough to board the ship?

No, besides filling in the boarding forms online, on the day of departure you must also show your cruise ticket and the required travel document.
Please remember that it is the responsibility of passengers to ensure that they have the travel documents necessary to comply with customs and immigration requirements. Passengers without the correct documents will not be allowed to board and their journey will not be reimbursed.

Can a disabled person go on a Costa cruise?

Yes. Costa Cruises wishes to satisfy the needs of all guests who want to experience a cruise especially to whom require a particular attention due to mobility problems, visual impairments or any other different ability. International regulations require the Company to be aware of any “needs for personal assistance in the case of emergency” (wheelchairs, etc.) of its guests in order to make the necessary arrangements. This information must be provided to Costa Cruises directly before the booking confirmation and again once passengers get on board of our ships. We kindly ask you to inform Costa Cruises before confirming a cruise when you have guests with special needs and/or any special medical assistance, especially in case of wheelchairs. Our ships have several cabins equipped for differently abled people , which are marked with a letter H on the ship deck plan of our catalogues.

Can I book a special diet?

You can agree on a special diet at the time of booking at your local Travel Agency or by calling our Contact Center. Special menus can be requested on all Costa cruises - gluten free for coeliacs, hypoglycaemic for diabetics or specific for any allergy or intolerance.

Can I change the name on the invoice?

Yes, you can. The request must be made within a month from the date of departure.

Can I complete the Web Check-in even if I do not have the booking number?

No, it's not possible

Do I need to get vaccinated before departure? What are the vaccinations required?

Vaccinations - when required - may be either compulsory or optional depending on the country of destination. Contact your local health authority for all the information necessary and to be vaccinated. If vaccination is compulsory, we recommend booking it in advance.

Does the price of my holiday double if I travel on my own?

The single use supplement varies subject to availability. The earlier you book, the likelier you are to pay the lowest supplement, i.e. 30%.

How can I reserve Beverage and Restaurant Packages and other services online?

Once you have purchased your cruise, you can customise it in MyCosta by booking Beverage Packages, Excursions (Costa Tours!) and other items and services for the itinerary you have chosen. The availability and price of items may vary depending on the length of the cruise and destination.

How can I reserve excursions (Costa Tours!) online?

Once you have purchased your cruise, go to MyCosta where you can see and book individual excursions for each port on the cruise.
Paying for all the excursions you choose is easy: you do it at the end of your cruise.

How do I access the Web check-in service?

To access the Web Check-in service, just go to MyCosta and enter the surname of one of the passengers and the booking number. You'll find Web Check-in in the MyCruise section.

How do I activate the Premium discount?

To receive your Premium Discount code just let us know your email address and/or mobile phone number before the end of your cruise. There are various ways you can do this: you can enter your email address and/or mobile phone number in MyCosta (in the MyCruise section), you can register on the website or at the interactive stands on board, or you can sign up to CostaClub. It will not be possible to provide the information required to receive a Premium Discount after the end of the cruise. To use the discount, just tell us the code you've been sent when you book your next cruise.
Please remember that your Premium Discount is valid for one year from the date your last cruise disembarked.

How do I book a Costa cruise?

You can book your cruise directly online or by contacting your local Travel Agency, our Contact Center of by having us call you back. Our operators can in fact call you back and help you make your booking - just fill in the form available on every page of the Costa Cruises official website.
If you are on board and already thinking about your next holiday, your Personal Cruise Consultants are available to recommend new destinations and provide you with the best offers.

How do I complete the Web check-in?

To fill in the Web Check-in form and get your Boarding Form, just fill in all the required fields. Please take care when filling in the email address field: the address must be personal and only one is required per booking, but if you enter addresses for all the passengers, each passenger must have their own address.
In the telephone number field, please remember to add the international dialling code (+44, not 0044), for both landline numbers and mobile numbers.

How do I confirm the services I've chosen that are in my basket?

You'll find all the services you have chosen for your cruise conveniently listed in the "Basket" section. You can then choose to confirm them, change them or remove them. When you have decided, you can book them. Remember: you can change your mind without incurring any additional costs up to 3 days before departure. After 3 days before departure, all the services you have booked will be charged to your onboard account and must be paid for at the end of your cruise.

How do I get to the departure port?

You'll find specific instructions on how to get to your departure port in MyCosta, in the MyCruise section; if you enter the place your journey starts, we'll provide you with road directions.

How do I find my cabin and Costa Card?

Once on board, our staff will tell you how to reach your cabin. You will find it open, with the Costa Card on your bed. It is useful to bear in mind that all even numbered cabins are on the left-hand side of the ship, while the odd numbered ones are on the right-hand side.

How do I pay for the services I have booked to personalise my cruise?

For your convenience, all services booked before departure will be paid for at the end of your cruise.

How do I personalise a cruise?

Once you have purchased your cruise, you can personalise it in MyCosta by booking Beverage Packages, Excursions (Costa Tours!) and other items and services for the itinerary you have chosen. The availability and price of items may vary depending on the length of the cruise and destination. Personalising your cruise is quick and easy: just sign into MyCosta entering your surname and booking number to make your holiday even more special before you set off - you can book now and you pay on board at the end of your cruise!

How does baggage drop-off work during boarding and disembarkation?

During boarding and disembarkation, your luggage is managed by Costa staff thanks to a simple tagging system, so you do not have to move around the ship with your suitcases. Once you hand in your luggage upon boarding, there is no not need to worry about anything else - Costa staff will deliver it to your cabin free of charge. Due to security checks carried out on all suitcases, delivery may take up to two hours after departure.
Please tag all your suitcases carefully - our staff is there to help in case of doubt or difficulty.
On the penultimate day, you will be given the baggage tags to be placed on the suitcases, which must be then placed outside your cabin on the last night of the cruise so they can be handled by our staff and you can leave the ship comfortably.
We recommend storing valuables, documents and personal effects in your hand luggage during boarding and disembarkation. Please bear in mind that pushchairs must be carried as hand luggage.

How many pieces of luggage can I take on board?

The number of pieces of luggage you can take on board varies according to the length of the cruise:
- Up to 7 months: a single piece of luggage/suitcase per person in addition to hand luggage
- 8 to 14 nights: no more than two pieces of luggage/suitcases per person in addition to hand luggage.
- Over 14 nights: no more than three pieces of luggage/suitcases per person in addition to hand luggage.
The maximum weight allowed for each piece of luggage is 23 kg. All pieces of luggage will be subject to X ray safety checks before boarding. We would kindly remind you that weapons, ammunition, explosive, fireworks, gases and infective and poisonous substances are not allowed. If your journey includes a flight, we recommend checking the baggage allowance of the airline company.

How soon should I be at the port before boarding?

We recommend being ready to board at least 2 hours before the departure time of your cruise to make sure that the passenger and luggage boarding procedures run smoothly. Costa Cruise's number one priority is the security of its Guests, which is why an increasing amount of time and attention is spent on boarding checks. If your cruise includes an air transfer, we recommend being at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight is due to depart.

I am already registered but I changed my e-mail address. What should I do?

Login on the Costa website and click on "Modify my profile". You can change the data provided while registering as well as your e-mail address by entering your password.

I am pregnant, can I go on a cruise?

Yes, if your cruise ends before your 24th week of pregnancy.
Please bring a medical certificate with you stating your expected date of delivery and your good health. Please bear in mind that our ships are not equipped to manage pregnancies and deliveries.

I am trying to register but the system tells me my e-mail address already exists. What should I do?

Each e-mail address must correspond to a single registered user. To complete with your registration, you must enter a new e-mail address that has not been used by another user. You can contact our Contact Center operators for assistance.

I am trying to visualise my booking but the system tells me to verify my data. What is the problem?

In order to visualise your booking, the data entered must be the same as when you purchased the cruise. We suggest verifying them and, should you need assistance, you can phone our Contact Center providing your booking number to our operators.

I booked a Costa cruise through a Travel Agency. Can I still complete the Web Check-in?

Of course! You can fill in the Web Check-in form on the official Costa website in MyCosta. It's fast, easy and secure: you can be sure that all your details have been entered correctly for stress-free boarding.
When you fill it in, you should have ready: your booking number, your personal information, and document details for all guests travelling with you.

I booked a cruise, what documents do I need to fill in?

To receive your cruise tickets and luggage labels by email, you must fill in the Web Check-in form and boarding form by going to MyCosta and entering your surname and booking number. You must print all these forms and bring them with you when you board, together with valid documents required for travel abroad.

I do not have an e-mail address. How do I book a cruise or the excursions?

You need an e-mail address to purchase or personalise your cruise online. If you do not have one, you can book your cruise by phoning our Contact Center or through your local Travel Agency.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

To receive a new password, click on "Forgotten password" and enter the details required. The new password will be sent to the email address you provided upon registering.

I need to book for more than four people. What should I do?

You can only book one cabin at a time online; the cabins on Costa ships can accommodate up to four guests, apart from Costa Diadema, which has some larger cabins that can accommodate up to five people. On the other ships, families with three children can travel comfortably in two cabins, thanks to the special Family Plan promotion.

I would like to personalise my cruise but the website tells me it is too late. What does that mean?

There is a deadline for personalising cruises (3 days before the date of departure of the ship), which is indicated by the system once you enter your data. If the deadline has passed, you can book Excursions (CostaTours!), Beverage Packages and other services directly on board. We recommend doing so at the beginning of your cruise to avoid availability issues.

Is insurance compulsory?

No, but we recommend taking out a policy when booking your cruise. The insurance company we work with has agreed on a particular policy with favourable conditions and premiums.

Is the Web Check-in available for all cruises?

Yes, whichever port you start your Costa cruise from, you can board with the Web Check-in form you have filled in online, together with your cruise ticket and required travel document.
Please remember that it is the responsibility of passengers to ensure that they have the travel documents necessary to comply with customs and immigration requirements. Passengers without the correct documents will not be allowed to board and their journey will not be reimbursed.

Not all those travelling with me have an e-mail address, what do I do?

The tags will be used upon boarding to identify and deliver the luggage to your cabin. The tags you receive on board at the end of your cruise will make it easier for you to leave the ship by showing the order of priority. Please remember that placing the tags on your luggage is compulsory.

What are the browsers supported by the Costa official website?

Our website supports all the most recent browsers. Using a version older than Internet Explorer 8 may cause navigation problems. The website is also mobile, tablet and smartphone-friendly. If you access the website through a firewall or proxy, make sure your cookies are enabled to improve your navigation experience.

What are the credit cards accepted to purchase my cruise online?

The following credit cards are accepted when you buy your cruise online: American Express, Visa and MasterCard. Debit cards, VISA Electron, Postepay, Bancomat, Postamat and Cirrus Maestro cards are not accepted.

What are the Costa neoCollection Itineraries?

The Costa neoCollection Itineraries are cruises for people who want to enjoy their holidays at a more relaxed pace. Stopovers are unique and longer, sometimes even until the next day, so that you can experience everything the destinations have to offer to the full, both day and night. They will take you to smaller ports, for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in wonderful destinations off the beaten track, with beautiful architecture and spectacular nature. The neoColletion Itineraries ships are Costa neoRomantica, Costa neoRiviera and Costa neoClassica.

What are the documents required to go on a cruise?

In addition to the travel documents (cruise ticket, boarding form, baggage tags and flight tickets, if applicable), all Guests must have an identity document valid for foreign travel in all countries included in the itinerary: ID or Passport according to your nationality and destination of the cruise.
We would kindly remind you that it is your responsibility to procure the necessary travel documents in compliance with customs and immigration office requirements. Passengers who do not have the correct travel documents will not be allowed on board and no refund will be made. It is also the Guests' responsibility to produce all the visas necessary for the Countries en route and to check the validity of their travel documents.

What are the facilities available for families with small children?

All ships can welcome children in pushchairs from the age of six months - there are spacious lifts and cabins and wide decks and gangways. Children under 3 enjoy priority boarding and can use the game room of the Squok Club (less busy times and accompanied by an adult). Upon request and subject to availability, our Hospitality/Customer Services Office can provide cribs, cots and baby baths, arrange to prepare meals, provide high chairs at restaurants and offer a bottle warming service. No baby food or nappies are sold on the ship.

What do Costa cabins offer?

All cabins are furnished in a modern style and offer all types of comforts. All cabins have: air-conditioning adjustable with a thermostat, satellite interactive flatscreen TV, hair-dryer, safe, Steward always at your disposal, minibar and 24-hour Room Service (available according to the type of cabin selected when purchasing the cruise), Wi-Fi (extra charge), soap and shower gel, towels and linen (changed regularly). The cabin and the bathroom are cleaned and tidied every morning. Every evening, besides additional cleaning and waste collection, towels left on the floor will be changed, you will find your bed ready for the night with the curtains drawn and the lights on.

What do I need to do once on board ship?

Once boarded, check the number of the cabin on your ticket. You can enter your cabin directly, you will find your key on the bed when you go in. Your luggage will be delivered to your room as soon as possible.

What do I need to know before booking an excursion?

Excursions require a minimum number of participants and the price includes transport, the assistance of a guide, and entry to museums and monuments. Meals and drinks are only included when specified. Children and teenagers benefit from price reductions of between 10 and 30%. Children under three can travel on an adult's lap free of charge. Please be careful when buying items on land, some may be subject to customs duty which Costa Cruises is not responsible for.

What do Samsara cabins offer?

Samsara Cabins and Suites are luxurious, elegant and comfortable rooms that guarantee unlimited and privileged access to the thermal area.
Samsara Cabins and Suites offer continental breakfast served directly in your cabin upon request, 24-hour Room Service, bathrobe and slippers, double CostaClub points and a 10% Premium discount on your next cruise.
In addition, Samsara Suites include all the comforts of other Costa Suites plus some special privileges: purifying shower filter, essential-oil diffuser, bathroom scales and a kettle with a selection of herbal teas.

What information do I need to book a cruise online?

You need to know the name, surname and date of birth of all Guests travelling with you. Booking online is simple - once you have chosen your cruise, just follow the step-by-step booking process and select your preferred payment method.

What is a guaranteed cabin?

If you book a guaranteed cabin (indicated as G0000), an identical or higher category cabin may be allocated to you for the same price, which may be equipped differently. The allocation of a higher category Cabin will not however entitle you to the benefits that are normally included in the price of that accommodation. You can find out the cabin number just before or on the day of departure.

What is Bag Express?

With the Bag Express service, your luggage will be picked up straight from your home and you'll find it on board in your cabin - and all at a great price. You can book this service online in MyCosta in the MyCruise section, or by calling the special number.

What is included in the price of the cruise?

From full-board (beverages excluded) to onboard activities, from sports and wellness equipment to evening entertainment - Costa cruise prices include everything you may want from a holiday. There are not included extra services ( beverages, excursions, spa treatments....) and service charges.

What is the difference between Classic and Premium cabins?

Classic Cabins offer all the comfort of a top-class cabin at affordable prices, together with free access to services and equipment provided on board.
Premium Cabins offer a superior level of Costa travel comfort, with a range of select services free of charge: a choice between first or second sittings for dinner, breakfast service on request, and 24-hour cabin service.

What is the Premium discount?

It is a personal 10% discount on the price of the cabin on your next cruise (port and registration taxes, service charge and flight not included). You will receive a Premium discount if you purchase a Premium Cabin, Suite or Samsara and it can be used to book a future cruise, except for World Tour routes and Far East cruises. Departure must be within one year from the end of the cruise that awarded you the discount.

What precautions does Costa Cruises take to prevent the spreading of the influenza A virus (H1N1)?

With the objective of making your holiday as safe and comfortable as possible, Costa Cruises has implemented a series of hygiene and sanitation measures as well as checks to limit the spreading of influenza A virus H1N1, which the World Health Organisation has declared a pandemic, as much as possible.
A letter detailing all the precautions implemented by Costa Cruises will be handed to you at the port together with a questionnaire you need to fill in upon boarding. Body temperature checks upon boarding may be carried out at certain times of the year.

What do the Suite cabins offer?

The Suites are spacious, comfortable, airy and further enhance your sea view. Book a Suite and the following exclusive treatments are included: the “Intenditore” beverage package (not included for guests that purchase a World Cruise), a dedicated restaurant, priority boarding and disembarkation at the Terminal with reserved VIP area, personal butler, personalised invitations to special events and special daily access to the ship’s spa area. You will find it in a box on the top part of your ticket.

What rates are available when I book my cruise?

Costa offers various rates depending on your requirements: When you book, the best solution for total peace of mind is the Pronto Price/Today's Deal rate. If you're raring to go on a wonderful Costa cruise but want to save even more, there's the Last Minute deals, available on certain departures. World cruises have a special rate that includes privileges specifically intended for this special itinerary.

When can I download my cruise ticket?

To print your cruise ticket, first you need to check in online and be assigned a cabin number. Your cruise ticket will be available some days before departure, depending on your country of residence. For more details, please contact your travel agent.

Why do I need to complete the Web Check-in?

When you fill it in, you should have ready: your booking number, your personal information, and document details for all guests travelling with you.

Why do I need to enter an emergency contact when completing the Web Check-in?

It is is both important and compulsory - by providing the name, surname and phone number of a relative or friend, who isn't travelling with you, and your mobile number we can get in touch with in case of emergency. This information will be deleted from all databases at the end of your cruise in compliance with Privacy regulations.

Can I be reached while I am on board?

Thanks to our agreements with various commercial partners, all ships have a satellite service that enables the clients of the main mobile providers to make and receive calls, send and receive texts and to use data services even while at sea. The international roaming service must be enabled on your phone. Tariffs are determined by your operator according to your service plan. Please contact your operator for further information. While navigating along the coast, your mobile phone may connect to a land operator. If this is the case you will receive a text with the relative costs.
On board, phone calls can be made from the satellite telephone cabin and you can also send and receive faxes.

Can I bring a small electrical appliance with me?

For safety reasons, no electrical appliances can be brought on board, with the exception of battery chargers (for mobile phones, video cameras, cameras, PCs and MP3 players) and electric razors. All cabins are equipped with a hair dryer and all ships offer an ironing, laundry and dry-cleaning service at an extra charge.

Can I bring food and beverages on board?

No food or drink purchased on land may be brought aboard. Any local products purchased during excursions can be handed to Security Costa staff for safekeeping and collected before disembarking at the end of the cruise.

Can I celebrate an occasion on board?

Celebrating a birthday, wedding anniversary or honeymoon on board is a truly special and unique experience. When on board, you can purchase special gift sets with cakes and other items. You can purchase special packages with cakes and other items directly on board, or by logging in to MyCosta in the section "Personalise" -> "Parties and Surprises". On Costa Diadema, you can also book areas to celebrate with your friends and family in a more reserved atmosphere

Can I change cabins once on board?

Yes, by paying the price difference and subject to availability. The request must be made immediately after boarding to the Hospitality/Customer Service Office.

Can I change my dinner time?

Any request to change the restaurant and assigned time must be addressed to the Mâitre at the times indicated in the Logbook. Costa will try to meet everyone's requirements subject to availability. If you have booked your cruise with the Premium or Deluxe Formula, you can change your dining time and the restaurant by logging in to MyCosta in the section "MyCruise" --> "Dining times". Check the availability of places in the various restaurants, and remember that you can change your dining time up to 3 days before departure.

Can I get married on board?

It is not possible to get married aboard Costa ships, with either a civil or religious ceremony.

Can I make calls from the ship?

The ship provides GSM connection for mobile phones, which enables you to make calls or send texts using the international roaming service.
The ship is also equipped with a satellite service to make calls directly from your cabin. Calls will be charged to your onboard account. You can also make calls from the shore to the ship, the switchboard will then transfer the call to the person required.

Can I pay by Cash Card?

Costa Cruises ships do not accept electronic, pre-paid or cash cards.

Can I still eat lunch/dinner if I get back late from an excursion?

All our onboard activities, including our excursions (CostaTours!), are organised bearing in mind the opening times of restaurants. If you do not take part in Costa excursions, we recommend verifying the time at which the ship leaves for the next port of call in the Logbook.

Can I surf the Internet while on board and in the cabin?

All ships provide 24-7 internet access thanks to satellite connection. You can connect to our on-board Wi-Fi using your PC, iPad, iPhone and smartphone or using the computers at the Internet Point. Access instruction and costs will be available once on board. Internet access is restricted to a single device at a time and the cost of the service will be charged directly to your Costa Card. You can choose between pay per use or use one of the different prepaid service plans available. To access Internet Point PCs, just use your Costa Card or follow the instructions to log in manually. Wi-Fi is available in all common areas and cabins. For further details, please contact the Hospitality/Customer Service Office on board.

Can I use deck chairs and loungers on board?

You will find deck chairs and loungers on the outer decks. You can use them free of charge any time during the entire cruise.

Can I withdraw money on the ship?

There are no ATMs or bank branches aboard Costa ships - you must withdraw money before boarding or during stopovers.

Can small animals be brought on board?

Animals are not permitted on board Costa ships. The only exception is for people with a disability or reduced mobility, who, on production of the relevant documentation, may bring a registered assistance dog with them that is trained to work and/or perform tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability.

Do I need to book a table at the restaurant?

You will be required to select the type of table (number of Guests), the time you wish to have dinner at and the restaurant at the time of booking (if you choose a Classic Cabin, you cannot choose your dinner time). There are also other types of Guest who won't be asked at what time they wish to have dinner, as they can use the open seating service (Perla Diamante CostaClub Members, Guests travelling on a neoCollection Itineraries cruise).

Do I need to book to see theatre shows?

The theatre is open to everyone and there is no need to book. Shows are repeated twice every evening between 8 pm and 9.30 pm, so everyone can get a seat! A different show is scheduled every night and is announced in the daily Logbook delivered to your cabin.

Do I need to bring a beach towel?

Large soft beach towels will be delivered to your cabin every day to use on board and to take with you on your excursions. Should you lose them, you will be charged for their replacement. If you like them, you can also buy them and take them home with you.

Does Costa Cruises provide medical assistance?

All our ships have an infirmary open during the times indicated in the Logbook, and provide a 24-hour medical service available on-call.
Guests need to be aware that Over-the-Counter pharmaceuticals are not available for purchasing on board. Medicines are available only by prescription of the ship’s doctor, following a medical consultation. Guests are advised to bring with them all their regular medications Guests should address specific questions concerning their journey to the Global Contact Center.
There is a charge for primary assistance provided by ship doctors and nursing staff. Sea-sickness tablets are available from the Hospitality/Customer Service Office free of charge. Any particular medical need must be reported at the time of booking.

How can I find my way around the ship?

It is easy to find your way around Costa ships thanks to the welcome meeting held at the beginning of the journey and the numerous maps located on each deck. You will also find a map with the main areas of the ship on your cabin key. But the most enjoyable way to discover all the corners of the ship is definitely just walking around.

How can I store my valuables safely?

You can store your valuables directly in your cabin, as each cabin is provided with a safe.

How do I access the Samsara area on board?

Access to the Spa is open to all Guests staying in Samsara cabins and suites. For all other Guests, access is subject to payment of a daily or weekly entry fee.

How do I pay for purchases made on board?

On board, all Guests will receive a personal Costa Card - all expenses will be charged directly to the cabin account, so you will not need to take money around with you to pay for day-to-day purchases from bars and boutiques or for extra services. A receipt will be issued for every purchase, which must be signed by the Guest. At the end of the cruise, and before disembarkation, you will be given a final bill itemising all the purchases made on board.
Your Costa Card is already activated when you receive it and your purchases will be charged to the cabin account automatically. Nonetheless, you need to link your Costa Card with your credit card (Visa, Mastercard and American Express) within 48 hours from boarding. Cash cards or prepaid cards are not accepted. Alternatively, a cash deposit of EUR 150/USD 150 per person can be made (we may require an additional sum if your purchases exceed the deposit). During the first 48 hours, your Costa Card may be temporarily deactivated in case of purchases exceeding EUR 200/USD 200 (unless covered by a cash deposit or by registering your credit card).

How does the cabin safe work?

To avoid blocking the safe, please read the instructions carefully before placing switched-on electrical devices (mobiles, smartphones) inside, as they may interfere with the functioning of the opening system.

How should I dress for excursions?

For shore excursions, we recommend casual clothing and comfortable shoes with no heels. If the trip includes a visit to religious sites, we recommend wearing appropriate clothing.

Is entertainment provided for children?

There are many entertainment activities planned for children from the age of three who are potty-trained (i.e. do not need a nappy/diaper) during the entire cruise. Miniclub and Teen Club are open all day from 9 am until midnight and our staff will make sure your children have fun with many new friends divided into four age groups: Mini Club (3-6 years), Maxi Club (7-11 years), Teen Club Junior (12-14 years) and Teen Club (15-17 years). Our qualified staff assistance is available free of charge in our 4 clubs - you only need to register your children upon boarding, when you will also receive a detailed programme of the activities planned. Activities may vary according to the season, ship and number of participants.
On board Costa neoRomantica the Miniclub and Teen Club times and programmes are more limited.
No entertainment is planned for children under three but, during the low season and less busy times, they can access the Club area with their parents.

Is it possible to smoke on board?

The smoking of cigarettes, cigars and pipes is not permitted in all internal public areas of the ship, except in “Cigar Lounge” areas. Electronic cigarettes may only be used in cabins and in “Cigar Lounge” areas. Smoking in public areas outdoors is only allowed in special Smoking Points equipped with ashtrays. We would kindly remind you that smoking is not permitted in cabins, but only outside on private balconies. To avoid the risk of fire, cigarettes must be put out and left in the ashtrays provided and never thrown overboard still lit.

Is there a baby-sitting service?

During the day, children over the age of three can take part in Miniclub activities. If parents want to enjoy some free time in the evening, they can also book the collective babysitting service, held at the Miniclub between 11.30 pm and 1:30 am, the day before.

Is there a Casino on board?

You will find a Casino with slot machines, roulette wheels and gambling tables aboard all Costa ships. Access is restricted to adult Guests and is only open during sailing. Bets may be placed in cash in the on-board currency (within the limits of the law up to EUR 999.99). If you gamble using Costa Card, the daily limit is EUR 500 if your Credit Card is registered and EUR 100 if you made a cash deposit.

Is there a laundry service?

All Costa ships provide a fast laundry, dry-cleaning and ironing service at an extra charge. Laundry bags and a price list are provided in every cabin. You can book the "MAGIC BAG LAUNDRY SERVICE" at a great price in MyCosta, in the section "Personalise -> Parties and Surprises": it's a service that you may find very useful at the end of your cruise.

Is there a Wellness Centre or Beauty Salon on board?

There is a Wellness Centre on every ship to regenerate with a sauna, Turkish bath and Oriental or therapeutic massages. Samsara Spa is also available on some ships - Costa's magnificent beauty farm where you can enjoy a unique physical and spiritual experience.
A Beauty Salon is available on all Costa ships for a few finishing touches to your style and image - manicure, pedicure, haircut, blow-dry and, only on selected ships, a barber's.

Is there an extra charge for children and teen activities?

No, they are free of charge. Programmes have plenty of activities for children and teens from 3 to 17. Costa holidays provide entertainment for everyone and there are clubs for all ages.

May the itinerary change?

Yes, the itinerary may change both before departure and during the cruise for both technical-operative or circumstances beyond our control.
The safety of our Guests and staff is Costa Cruises' top priority and is an essential condition for a pleasant and peaceful holiday, which is why, in case of stopovers in Countries at risk, the Company reserves the right to change the itinerary. The Captain also has the authority to change the planned itinerary during sailing.
Guests will be promptly notified of changes of itinerary made after booking and before departure.

What clothing do I need to bring on the cruise?

During the cruise you can dress as you wish - the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Clothing must however be suited to the environment, season, destination or occasion: more elegant for gala dinners, more comfortable and informal during the day and for excursions. A jacket or a shawl is always advisable.

What Credit Cards are accepted on board?

American Express, Visa and Mastercard are accepted on board. Debit cards, prepaid cards, reloadable cards, VISA Electron, Postepay, Cash cards, Postamat and Cirrus Maestro are not accepted.

What happens in case of rough seas or bad weather?

Our itineraries are planned in order to take our Guests to the most beautiful and calmest seas in the world, in the most suitable seasons. Our ships are designed and built using the latest technologies - thanks to a sophisticated system of stabilisers, sailing is peaceful even in rough seas. People who have already travelled on a cruise with us have been surprised by the spaciousness of the interiors and the feeling of stability you experience when sailing on our ships. In any case, sea-sickness tablets are always available from the Hospitality/Customer Service Office free of charge if required.

What is open seating?

It is a new service where dinner can be had at any time: entry to the restaurant is free from 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm and you can even choose the table you want, so you can make new friends every evening!
Also available to Perla Diamante CostaClub Members, anyone travelling on a neoCollection Itineraries cruise and Guests in a Premium Cabin on board Costa Diadema.

What is Samsara?

Samsara Spa is Costa's exclusive beauty farm, with much more on offer. Your every need will be seen to with great care and attention starting from the Spa, which offers treatments and products at the same standard as the best health resorts, and continuing at table with light menus made with the most genuine natural ingredients and in the comfort of your own cabin.

What is the Logbook?

The Logbook is the on-board newsletter delivered to your cabin every evening. It will keep you informed on activities the following day, restaurant opening times, information concerning the next port of call, excursions (Costatours!) and any additional information you may need.

What is the temperature on board?

The temperature on board is pleasant, although we advise bringing a warmer item of clothing to avoid sudden temperature changes between the inside and the outside of the ship and in air-conditioned environments. You can control the temperature in your cabin using the thermostat.

What kind of excursions (CostaTours!) are there?

In addition to our classic tours, which are suitable for everyone and available on all cruises, there are Eco CostaTours!, dedicated to those who love nature and a sustainable way of travelling; Premium CostaTours! , a selection of the most popular and appreciated tours for 25 people max.; tailor-made excursions organised according to your specific needs. In the cruise itineraries you'll find the Costa Tours! available each day for each port. In addition, please visit the "Excursions" section of MyCosta. What languages are spoken on board?

Our staff and Guests come from all over the world and one of the reasons that makes our ships so special is the international atmosphere you come across on board. You will not have any difficulty communicating with our staff. Entertainment and shows are also prepared with an international audience in mind: music, dancing and mime - music is the official language! You can also choose the language you would like during our exclusive shore excursions (CostaTours!).

What shops will I find on board?

On board ship, you will find stores with the latest and finest Italian and international designer brands where you can shop, pick up gifts or buy basic goods. At the Photo Shop, you will be able to buy the souvenir photos and videos taken of you during the cruise and you will also find digital devices and accessories, postcards and a mailing service. Our stores are all duty free and you can pay using your Costa Card.

What type of cabins will I find on board?

On a cruise ship, there are cabins suitable for all necessities in terms of space, function and location. Each type of cabin has different characteristics. There are Internal, Sea View, fixed window or Private Balcony Cabins. Those requiring the best, will find total comfort provided by our Suites, Panorama Suites and Gran Suites offer exclusive facilities and services and the utmost care to detail. If you want to travel well, you can book a Samsara Cabin or Suite, offering direct unlimited access to the Spa.

When are the service charges paid for?

A service charge for all on-board hotel services will be charged daily on the Guest account. Payment will be required at the end of the cruise according to the days the service was actually used. The daily charge varies according to the date and destination of the cruise.

When do I need to settle the bill?

The final bill will be delivered to your cabin the evening before disembarking. Please check it thoroughly. All complaints must be made before disembarking. If you registered a credit card, the amount will be charged directly, which means that, upon disembarking, you will not have to check out but you may simply leave the ship with your electronic key. Purchases made after the issue of the final bill will not be charged directly to your credit card - extras will have to be paid for at the reception on the day of disembarkation. The only exception is minibar items which, if consumed the night before disembarking, will be charged to your credit card.

Where can I buy Beverage Packages on board?

You can buy Beverage Packages in all our on-board bars but please note that Beverage Packages can only be purchased using Costa Cards.

Where can I buy excursions (CostaTours!) on board?

You will find a Tour Magazine in your cabin with information concerning the excursions (Costa Tours!) available in all ports. The staff in the Excursion Office is available for bookings and suggestions during the opening times indicated in the Logbook. It is also possible to book excursions (Costa Tours!) via the on-board Totems or interactive television (where available)

Where can I have my lunch and dinner?

The buffet is available for lunch as well as dinner. In the evening you can have dinner in the elegant and enchanting main Restaurants, for the ultimate dining experience.
Theme restaurants are also open for dinner (only on some ships) such as Club restaurant, the Tavola Teppanyaki Japanese restaurant (only on Costa Diadema) or the Pizzeria PummiDoro or Samsara Restaurant. The opening times of all restaurants can be found in the Logbook.

Who can I contact if I need assistance?

The Hospitality/Customer Service Office is open 24 hours a day aboard all Costa ships to provide you with information, support and to book the services available during the cruise.

Who is Squok?

Squok is Costa's friendly half-shark half-dolphin mascot and will become your children’s best friend.

Will Mass be celebrated on board?

Mass is only celebrated during some cruises and on the main Catholic feast days. All Costa ships have a Chapel where you can go and pray.

Will there be a general emergency drill?

A general emergency drill will take place before departure to familiarise Guests with emergency procedures and to teach them how to wear a life vest and how to reach their assembly station. We would like to point out that attendance is compulsory. You will receive all the necessary instructions after boarding.

What if I forget something on board?

All items found aboard our ships are sent to Costa Cruises' Lost and Found depot. Please contact the Contact Center to report the loss. If found, the item will be shipped directly to your home.

What if my luggage has been damaged?

In case of damage both in the port or on board, you must report it to the personnel on-site. You will then need to contact your insurance company (if applicable) or the agency where you booked your cruise.

Are Perla and Perla Oro Members still offered a free dinner?

Yes, Perla and Perla Oro Members will be entitled to this privilege with dinner in the Samsara Restaurant (if the ship has one) from June 2016. This privilege is not offered on ships without a Samsara Restaurant. However between February and June 2016, Perla and Perla Oro Members will be invited to the Club Restaurant (if the ship has one).

As an Ambra Member will I be entitled to special discounts when I book my first cruise?

No, Ambra Members are not entitled to CostaClub discounts.

As a CostaClub Member, is it possible to have a free birthday or anniversary cake?

All Members (except Ambra Members) can have a free birthday cake, but not an anniversary cake. The privilege is only for people who celebrate their birthday during their cruise and includes a free photo taken in the Restaurant when the cake is brought out.

Do all packages purchased on board count towards your points total?

All packages purchased on board that are debited to your card count towards your points total. However, all services included in the cruise ticket do not count towards your points total.

How are cruise points calculated for a CostaClub Member who pays for a cabin upgrade?

Points are calculated based on the category of cabin that has actually been purchased, not on the higher cabin category offered at a promotional price.
For example, if a Member purchases a cruise in an inside cabin and then pays for an upgrade to a cabin with balcony, the points they earn will be the points for the cabin on the cruise that they initially purchased, and not the cabin with balcony.

I am an Ambra Member and have read that I'll be given a welcome gift on board. What does it include?

All Ambra Members who have joined at least 7 days before the departure date of their first cruise will receive a welcome gift on board that comprises: the offer of a free drink (from a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks) and a ticket for the 4D cinema (on the ships that have one). On ships that do not have a 4D cinema, Members will receive a small free gift in addition to the offer of a free drink. The "welcome gift" may change over the course of the year and may vary from ship to ship.

I am a Corallo Member and I noticed that this no longer entitles me to a bottle of sparkling wine. Why?

To meet the requirements of Corallo guests, we have decided to replace the bottle of sparkling wine with an end of cruise gift: a privilege for all new Members.

I didn't take a cruise in 2015. Can I be upgraded on my first cruise in 2016?

You can only be upgraded on additional cruises if you have taken at least one cruise in the previous year. The additional cruise/s are always calculated on the basis of the previous year.

If a Member shares a cabin with another Member belonging to a different level (e.g. Perla passenger and Perla Diamante Member),to which benefits will they be entitled?

Privileges may be individual and per cabin. Cabin Privileges can be shared by all the occupants of the cabin. The presence of more than one Member in the same cabin does not give the right to multiple or accumulative cabin Privileges and in any case the privileges provided will be those for the Member with the highest club level in the cabin.

If a person joins CostaClub after 1 February 2016 - the date the new programme comes into effect - and their last cruise was purchased at a promotional rate not advertised in the brochure, will they receive the points that they earned on that cruise?

Yes, but just the onboard expenses points will be valid if the cruise was purchased at a promotional rate not published in the brochure.

If a person has travelled with Costa and joins the club after turning 18 years old, which cruises will be counted?

When they join the Club, only the last cruise taken in the previous 3 years when the person was already 18 years old will be counted.

If a Member moves down a level (e.g. from Perla to Corallo, or from Perla Oro to Perla), but has booked a cruise/cruises before 16 September 2015, which level will they be in for this cruise/these cruises?

If the booking was made before 16 September 2015, the Member will be in the level they were in at the time of booking.
This is only the case for a cruise/cruises booked before 16 September, whether they travel during the grace period (30 January - 30 June 2016) or at a different time, e.g. October 2016 or in 2017.
Of course, if a Member was in the Perla level at the time of booking, but when their points are recalculated they move up to Perla Oro, they will be entitled to the Perla Oro privileges.

If I move up a level during a cruise, will I receive the privileges for the new level immediately?

No, the privileges for the new level will be offered from the next cruise you take.

If the Perla, Perla Oro, Perla Diamante Member is travelling on a ship that doesn't have a Samsara Restaurant, will they be offered this privilege anyway?

No, the privilege is only available on ships that have Samsara and Club Restaurants.

Is it possible for the privileges to change over time?

Yes, Members should check the website regularly to see all the latest CostaClub news. The order and days of allocation of the onboard Privileges may also vary depending on the length of the cruise and the infrastructure of the ship. Privileges cannot be combined with Suite privileges.

Is there a CostaClub cocktail party?

Yes, all Members will be invited, from Acquamarina to Perla Diamante. It will be called the “Welcome Back Cocktail Party” and will take place during the first few days of the cruise. During the cocktail party a free photo will still be taken, which can be collected at the Photoshop.
At the cocktail party there will be a prize for the Member with the most points. In other words, a member with a points total that includes cruises taken before the three years (that are not considered valid for remaining at the same level).

Perla Diamante Members have seats reserved in the theatre, what does this mean?

The first two rows in the theatre will be reserved with seat covers with the writing “Reserved Suite and Perla Diamante” (the privilege is also offered to Suite Guests). Places will be held until 5 minutes before the start of the show. This privilege can be used by all occupants in the same cabin.

Special behind the scenes Tour of the ship: is this a tour of the kitchens?

Until June 2016 the special tour will only be in the ship's kitchens. From June 2016, it may also be extended to other areas on board, depending on the ships’ accessibility, but only on cruises lasting more than 7 days.

What does an Upgrade/SuperUpgrade for any additional cruise/s mean?

The Upgrade Privilege is reserved for Acquamarina, Corallo and Perla Members, while the SuperUpgrade Privilege is for Perla Oro and Perla Diamante Members. The privilege means a free Upgrade on the additional cruise and all subsequent cruises compared to the number of cruises taken in the previous year. For example, if a Member took two cruises in 2015, they will be upgraded in 2016 from their third cruise onwards. Cruises under four days are not counted.
This privilege is not valid for cruises taken in August, Round the World cruises or New Year cruises.
The highest cabin type to which Acquamarina, Corallo and Perla Members can be upgraded is Cabin with Balcony (Upgrade): they can be upgraded from inside cabin to outside cabin, and from outside cabin to cabin with balcony.The cabin category purchased will remain the same. The highest category to which Perla Oro and Perla Diamante Members can be upgraded is a Suite (SuperUpgrade).
The assignment of the privilege depends on the availability of cabins on the ship.

What is the “stress-free luggage” privilege for Perla Diamante Members?

This privilege has been created to make our Perla Diamante Members' cruises even more relaxing and ensures that Members can have their luggage sent directly from their home for boarding and returned to their home via the Bag Express service provider, and they'll find it in their cabin when they board. The luggage delivery service is only for Perla Diamante Members resident in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal (excluded Madeira and Porto Santo), Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (excluded Canary islands, Ceuta and Melilla and Andorra) , Sweden or United Kingdom (excluded The Channel islands, Malta and Cyprus). It is available for cruises boarding at Civitavecchia, Genoa, Naples, Palermo, Savona, Trapani, Trieste and Venice, Marseille and Toulon, and Barcelona. The service can be booked from 20 days before the departure date and not before, on the Bag Express minisite on the Costa website, or by phoning the Bag Express Call Center on 199 418 428 from Italy, or +39 08119706711 from other countries. All Perla Diamante Members on board are offered a free laundry service, regardless of residence.

What is the gift for moving up a level?

The gift consists of a lapel pin for men and a charm for women. The gift will be delivered on board at the start of the cruise. The gift will be given only once: the first time Members move up to the new level.

What are the special excursions for Perla Diamante Members?

These are special excursions only for Perla Diamante Members and other VIP Guests at the ship's discretion. Members will be informed of all the details (destination, programme and price) via leaflets delivered to their cabin. The excursions will take place even if only very few Members take part. It is a premium tour (among the existing ones) at the price of a standard tour. This privilege is guaranteed on cruises lasting 5 days or more.

What does preferential boarding for Perla Diamante Members mean?

The preferential boarding service is reserved for Perla Diamante Club Members and people travelling with them on the same cruise ticket. Where there is a Meet & Greet service, Perla Diamante Members can check in before all the others, using the ‘Fast line’for example at the Palacrociere in Savona and Barcelona, Perla Diamante Members can use their VIP Lounge together with Suite Guests, before boarding for other guests starts.

What does free entry to the spa for a day include?

Perla Diamante Members can spend a whole day in the spa on board, if the ship has one (excluding C. neoClassica, C. Magica, C. Fortuna and C. Mediterranea). The privilege is valid once per cruise for the Member and a person travelling in the same cabin (it cannot be offered to someone travelling in a different cabin). Members will be given more details in the Welcome letter. The privilege can be used by booking on board, except on days sailing at sea.
All other spa services that incur a charge are excluded.

Who is the Hospitality Operator Senior Assistant?

It's a native language speaker who deals with booking requests for onboard services for Perla Diamante members (spa, excursions). They can be contacted by phone at the times set by the ship's itinerary. All the details will be provided in the welcome on board letter delivered to Members' cabins when they board.

Why is the CostaClub card number important?

When booking a cruise, you must always provide your CostaClub card number so that you can receive all the benefits for your club level.

Will all Members receive an end of cruise gift?

Yes, from Acquamarina to Perla Diamante, but not Ambra Members. The gift will depend on your membership level. Perla Oro and Perla Diamante Members can choose between different gifts. The new gifts will be available from April 2016. The gift is per cabin and not per Member and the gift will be offered according to the highest level (so in a cabin with a Corallo and a Perla Member, the gift will be Perla).

Will Perla and Perla Oro Members receive vouchers or credit for purchases on board?

Yes Perla Members will receive a 20 euro/20 USD voucher, which Members can spend on board as they wish, for example on excursions, drinks or for services at the spa. Perla Oro Members on the other hand will receive a 50 euro/50 USD voucher. However, the voucher cannot be usedto pay the service charge.

Will Perla Oro and Perla Diamante Members have a special cocktail party?

Yes, it will be after the “Welcome Back Cocktail Party”, together with Suite Guests. In this case, the photo will not be a free Club gift. Members will be able to purchase them from the Photoshop.

Will the dedicated restaurant for Perla Diamante Members be the Club Restaurant?

How long do services I have chosen stay in my basket?

All the services you have added to your basket will be available until 4 days before departure. You can view and change all the services and excursions before then. 4 days before departure, the basket will be emptied and you will no longer be able to book them before your cruise.

I can't remember my booking number to log in to MyCosta. What should I do?

To log in to MyCosta you must enter your booking number. You'll find it in the booking summary on your cruise ticket, or you can ask your travel agent to give it to you at any time. If you booked directly on the Costa Cruises website, you can call us on 0800 3890622 and ask for assistance from our cruise experts.

I have already booked some services through my travel agency, can I change them on MyCosta?

No, you cannot. You can see all the services and excursions you have booked through your travel agency in the ""Basket -> Reserved" section of MyCosta. It is not possible for you to change these.

Of course. You can personalise your cruise by logging in to MyCosta with the booking number your travel agent gave you.

What do the different sections "Basket", "Reserved" and "Included" mean?

In the "Basket" section, you'll find you all the services and excursions that you have pre-selected but NOT confirmed yet. You can make as many changes as you like up to 3 days before departure, after which the basket will be emptied and you will no longer be able to book them before your cruise. In the "Reserved" section, you'll find you all the services and excursions that you have confirmed in your basket. You can make as many changes as you like up to 3 days before departure, after which everything you have confirmed in this section will be charged to your cabin account and paid for at the end of your cruise. In the "Included" section, you'll find all the services included in the price of your cruise. This section cannot be changed.

What is the maximum number of services I can book?

There is no limit to the number of services you can book on MyCosta. However, you cannot book different services at the same time on the same day.
