What we will do
- We'll set off on our coach from Venice and head for the Borgoluce Estate, near Susegana. On our arrival at the Mandre site, we'll meet our guide who will take us to see the buffalo stable, the dairy farm, the bio-gas plant where renewable sources of energy are generated, and finally the museum of crafts and country life. The estate comprises 1,220 hectares of life. Pastures, woodlands, arable fields, vineyards, orchards, canals, mills and dairies. In the 12th century, this variety enabled them to produce everything necessary for daily life inside the estate. This tradition continues to this day: it is called biodiversity, and it is the most natural way to keep the soil rich and fertile, protecting the life of every species in the ecosystem. Today, in the Borgoluce estate, you can find vineyards with the most famous Veneto wines Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet, field of crops such as corn, barley, common wheat, soya and sorghum, cattle, pig, milk buffalo, horse and sheep, all purebred livestock, not to mention fields, pastures, woodlands and olive groves. At the end of our visit, we'll have the chance to sample the local cheeses, cold meats and wines. Before setting off again, we'll have some free time.
- We'll then head to Treviso, a wonderful city for exploring on foot and admiring the frescoed houses, churches and palazzos. Still surrounded by its old Venetian walls, Treviso has a wealth of monuments, historical sights and precious art, all with a Medieval feel, such as the elegant palazzos in Piazza dei Signori, the city's most emblematic sight. The church architecture is exquisite, especially the Cathedral. After some free time to explore the city's hidden corners, we'll head back to the port on our coach.
